Facebook Chat mit Pidgin ohne Plugin (Jabber/XMPP)

Mittels Pugins ist es schon länger möglich mit seinen Facebook Freunden in Pidgin zu chatten. Bei mir liefen diese Plugins jedoch nicht zufriedenstellend. Mein Pidgin stürzte immer wieder ab und ich wurde auf Facebook regelmässig ausgeloggt.

Ab sofort ist der Facebook Chat kompatibel mit dem Jabber Protokoll XMPP. So kann man Facebook ohne Plugins in Pidgin, und andere Jabber-kompatible Messenger, integrieren.

Die nachfolgenden Screenshots zeigen, wie man das bewerkstelligen kann (Konten -> Konten verwalten):
